- Weekend for the Seriously Ill
Please invite people to participate in the Weekend for the Seriously Ill. There is no fee. Medical personnel are among the team members for this beautiful Weekend. Organizers would appreciate food palanca, especially fruit, brought to the retreat house on the Friday the event opens. The community is invited to pray at Dominican at 8:25 a.m. and may bring flowers for the retreatants. For more information, please contact the retreat house (http://www.dominicanretreat.org/retreats.html#calendar) at 703-356-4243 or info@dominicanretreat.org or Doug Sebek at 703-860-4929.

- Evening of Reflection
We have nearly finished with two very significant liturgical seasons – Lent and Easter. We will soon celebrate the birthday of our Church on Pentecost Sunday. Then we go into “Ordinary Time” – somewhat similar to entering into our Fourth Day.
Please join the members of our community as we celebrate an Evening of Reflection on Friday, May 25, at 7:30 at Missionhurst. Our theme will be “Ordinary Time”, and we will offer several reflections on what that means for our spiritual journey.
Bring your family and friends – those who have made a weekend and those who have not. All are welcome. A reception will follow. If you chose to bring light snacks and drink, that will be a blessing for all.

Newsletter March 2011: Life-Giving Blue Sky
It is a great day outside for a walk – blue sky, sun, a bit of wind, but really invigorating – life-giving. In the past few weeks I have had the opportunity to experience other life-giving events. In my own parish Ultreya, the witness given by one of the younger members of the community was real and honest, the story of a continuing journey. None of us are finished. We are all in process. We are all able to grow in our relationship with Jesus.

Newsletter Sept 2011: Renewal and Change
The weather is beautiful as I write this and we are fortunate to have had no severe damage from the earthquake and some power outages and downed trees as a result of Hurricane Irene. One is never sure what the next storms will bring. Fall will be quickly upon us. It is a wonderful time of year, a time to witness the changing of the leaves, an opportunity to be present to the miracle of nature.

Newsletter Summer 2011: Welcoming Change
Summer is in full swing!! Time to relax, spend time with God, family and friends. Members of the Secretariat spent a thought provoking, challenging day at Mt. Tabor recently with Fr. Joe Nangle considering how we are building the reign of God – what is going on in my life and yours? What is going on in your world and mine? How do we live justly, love tenderly and walk humbly with our God?

Newsletter April 2011: Stretching…
Busy day!! Just back from a meeting of Area II Cursillistas on Sunday!! What in goodness is Area II? You can check it out at www.CursilloRegion2.org, our newly created website. It was a very good meeting. Good to spend time with Cursillistas from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, etc. Take a look at the website and learn what is going on in other places. It stretches our outlook.
