Retreat for People Facing Serious Illness (Retreat for the Seriously Ill) December 12-14, 2008 Retreat He leads me beside still waters; he restores my soul. (Psalm 23:2-3) We eagerly anticipate the Retreat for People Facing Serious Illness scheduled for December 12-14, 2008. The theme for the retreat is taken from the songs of David, the Psalms. Only goodness and kindness follow us as we put ourselves in the care of the Shepherd who feeds and protects us, body, mind and soul. God graces those who are called as retreatants. Many who experience a serious illness have responded to His call to participate. How many others have not heard the call because they are not aware of the retreat? Invite those who are experiencing a serious illness to consider the retreat and have them or their family members or care-givers contact the Dominican Retreat House at (703) 356-4243 for information or to register. There is no cost to retreatants. As the team prepares to welcome those called to retreat and renew, we invite you to keep both retreatants and team members in prayer. Your prayers are appreciated through the team preparation, the weekend retreat, and after the retreat, when the retreatants return to home life. The December 12-14, 2008 retreat will be held at the Dominican Retreat, 7103 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22101 . Please grace us with your sacrifice and written letters of love and support, addressed to “Sister” or “Brother in Christ”. We also appreciate donated food items and drinks, your presence at our serenade on Sunday, December 14, at 8:25 AM at the Dominican Retreat and your prayers. Your written letters may be delivered to the Dominican Retreat on Friday, December 12, or mailed c/o Retreat for the Seriously Ill, Dominican Retreat, 7103 Old Dominion Drive, McLean, VA 22101 . Directions to the Dominican Retreat: Drive in the direction of Tysons Corner, Virginia . Using I-495, take VA Route 123 north exit - toward McLean (not Tysons Corner). Stay on Rte 123. At the intersection of Rte 123 and Old Dominion Drive, turn LEFT at the traffic signal on Old Dominion Drive . Approximately 1/4 mile on the left, turn at the Dominican Retreat sign. Follow the road to the parking area. Enter through the first door to the left of the main entrance. |
